Photo Inspections

Buildster enables owners and managers of projects to capture photos directly onto their blueprints during the course of a construction project. This ‘Live’ document can be shared with any or all of your project team. You can either set up your inspection points while on site and add photos as you create them, OR, you can set up all your inspection points off site first then add photos later.

Creating Photo Markers

  1. Login and select a project that you either own or manage
  2. Select the plan page you want to set up inspection points on
  3. Tap the orange ‘Camera icon’ above your plan near the top of your screen
  4. You’ll see that the icon changes to a ‘Close Photos’ button. Simply tap this button to exit photo mode
  5. Pinch zoom to find where you want to add photo markers
  6. Tap and hold to drop a photo marker. You can re-position the marker after you drop it by dragging it around.  A dialogue box will appear from the bottom of your screen
  7. Use the horizontal slider that appears to rotate your marker. (Hint, It’s a good idea to place the markers where you will stand while taking the photos. This makes it easier when you’re adding photos later)
  8. Enter an optional location or unit number
  9. Swipe up on the dialogue box to display more
  10. Tap ‘Create Photo Marker’ if you want to create the marker without photos, OR
  11. Tap ‘Add’ to add photos. Take a photo or add from your gallery
  12. Select ‘Add’ again if you’d like to add additional photos
  13. When you are finished, tap ‘Create Photo Marker’ and the photo marker will be created with your photos attached. Note: While photos are uploading, do not exit the app
  14. If there are photos attached to a marker, it will display a number in the middle of each marker indicating how many

Note: The default setting for sharing is turned to ‘OFF’, to enable sharing go to ‘Project Settings’ then ‘Photo Settings’ Here you will be able to select who can view the photos in your project. 

  1. Login and select a project that you either own or manage
  2. Select the plan page you want to set up inspection points on
  3. Click the orange ‘Camera icon’ above your toolbar on the top left of your screen
  4. You’ll see that an orange banner displays horizontally across the top of your screen. This is to let you know you’re in ‘Photo Module View’
  5. To exit simply tap the blue pin in the same location as you found the camera icon. Above your toolbar
  6. Click the plus or minus arrow on your tool bar to zoom in/out and find the area you want to drop a photo marker
  7. Click on your plan to drop the marker. Click and hold the marker and drag it around if you would like to reposition it. 
  8. Drag the horizontal slide bar to rotate the marker
  9. Enter an optional location/unit if desired
  10. Click the plus sign in the dialogue box to add a photo from your desktop OR
  11. Click create to create the marker without a photo 
  12. The marker will appear and display the number of photos if any. 
  13. You can hover over photo markers for a quick view of the photos attached to it
  14. You can delete photo markers, or individual photos at any time by clicking the red delete buttons and trash can buttons

Note: The default setting for sharing is turned to ‘OFF’, to enable sharing go to ‘Project Settings’ then ‘Photo Settings’ Here you will be able to select who can view the photos in your project.
